Chu-Li Shewring and Adam Gutch are filmmakers living on the Isle of Wight. Chu-Li studied Sound Design at the National Film and Television School. For her sound work, she has collaborated with directors and artists, including Steve McQueen, Ben Rivers and Siobhan Davies, and in 2017 she was awarded the Jules Wright Prize at The Film London Jarman Awards. Adam studied Documentary at the NFTS. He has worked on various films for (and about) artists and musicians, including Sonny Rollins, The Chapman Brothers and Jeremy Deller. Chu-Li and Adam’s first film, Semangat (2011), was made for C4/BritDoc under the creative guidance of Oscar winning director Pawel Pawlikowski. Their work has screened at the London Film Festival, IFF Rotterdam, Edinburgh IFF and Images Toronto (Jury Prize 2012).
